Harrow Fair are Miranda Mulholland (Great Lake Swimmers, Belle Star) and Andrew Penner (Sunparlour Players). One part stomping songs that echo early Country and Rock n Roll, the other gritty ballads that sound sweet and haunted. This duo's evocative and rapidly expanding collection of songs are utterly foreign, oddly familiar and deeply gratifying.
Although a recently minted group, these veteran musicians have garnered many accolades already for their collaboration. They have opened for Juno winner, Donovan Woods, Grammy winner Buckwheat Zydeco, and were a hit at the Windsong Festival and Nuit Blanche North last summer. Their song ”Told My Heart A Lie" was featured on CBC's "Songs You Need to Hear" in August and was also chosen by John Doyle of the Globe and Mail as one of his favourite cultural moments of 2015.
